This companion study to the Defence Review 2009, entitled An Examination of the Concept and Viability of Voluntary National Service as a Whole-of-Government Strategy, focuses on the concept and viability of voluntary national service as a whole-of-Government strategy. The study examines the concept of voluntary national service and attempts to identify why New Zealand might consider developing one.
