This publication sets out a briefing to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Defence in June 2018 to clarify where New Zealand Defence Force
operational contingency personnel can be deployed within Iraq. The briefing is titled Taji Deployment – Use of Operational Contingency. The Ministers agreed
that the operational contingency contained in the 2015 Cabinet paper would not apply to Taji (recommendation (e)(ii)).
