Publication of Cabinet documents associated with reviews of the Afghanistan and Iraq deployments
The Government has now published the Cabinet documents supporting Cabinet decisions from June 2019 regarding the deployment of New Zealand Defence Force personnel to Afghanistan and Iraq.
On 10 June 2019, the Government announced decisions to withdraw from Iraq in 2020, and to refocus the deployment to Afghanistan. Press releases regarding these announcements are available from the Beehive website:
